When you call the Manpower office in Auburn, it is highly likely that you will be warmly greeted by Assistant Recruiter Katie Ramirez.
As an Assistant Recruiter, Katie's work is never done. She is the primary support staff for our office, including greeting candidates as they come in to the office, helping them to begin the application process, complete new hire orientation, and helping to manage time reporting for associates.
In addition to those traditional Assistant Recruiter responsibilities, if you see a job advertisement on www.manpowerjobs.com or a variety of other online resources, it is likely Katie wrote it, as she handles all the job postings for the entire Manpower team.
I know it sounds trite, but truly it is the people. Everyone on our team is incredibly passionate about connecting workers with the most suitable opportunities - ones that allow them to be as successful as they can be in a role, and they work tirelessly to make it happen. I like knowing that what I do provides a service that helps to ease the burden for my team.
Communicating with people who are very frustrated in their job search can be difficult sometimes. I understand, firsthand, how scary the uncertainty of unemployment can be, and sometimes we may not have something right away that can help them. In those situations, we have many other resources we can point them to that might be able to help.
I would say it is successfully undertaking the management of our advertisements statewide. I've developed a system to help me write, post and track them more efficiently, and I currently oversee approximately 150 ads. When I get positive feedback about an ad that one of our current offices finds especially helpful, it's really satisfying and makes the effort well worth it.
I was a customer service representative for a year, and before that I spent two years as a Career Assistant at my college's career center. I worked a variety of temporary assignments when I came home for summers during college, such as filing at a medical office, answering phones at an electric supply company, and providing reception at a busy engineering firm.
It's hard to pick just one! But, I guess I'd have to say Portland - it's where I was born and raised, so there is a lot of nostalgia associated with it.
